An extraordinary dress tailored by Malcolm Hall in the 1990's.
Malcolm was an assistant designer and pattern maker for Ossie Clark and Alice Pollock 1968 to 1970 before launching his own label and becoming a mainstay of the glam roack and pop scene through the early 1970's. His designs were worn by Paul McCartney, Abba, The Rolling Stones and he even has a suit designed for Jimmy Page in the V&A museum. Take a look at our post about him Glam Style
We've been lucky enough to get hold of all his sample suits from the 1970's to 1990's. These would have been made for clients to choose the designs which Malcolm would then tailor to thier specifications. All fully finished and largely unworn. What an amazing find.
This multicoloured vibrant off the shoulder silk dress is such a unique shape, with velvet bust and waist detail.
