Classic retro print by John Gilroy, perhaps best known for his 1930's Guinness adverts.
He was also an accomplished portrait painter, as seen in his 1960's 'Kiku'. The oriental subject is perhaps the reason we include Kiku in the Tretchikoff category, it was certainly taken up by Boots and other print sellers to be sold along with Tretchikoffs and Lynches.
This is a good example as we've seen, glazed so it's lost none of its colour and vibrancy and double framed in a wide, gold painted wood in a mock classical style. There are some reflections in the photos from the glass.
