We have a few of these large charcoal and graphite sketches from Robert Longo's 'Men In The Cities' collection.
This one features Cindy, originally sketched in 1984 with her head in her hands, the others are Gretchen and Eric from 1985.
The Men In Cities series was created in the late 70's and went on through the 1980's. They feature sharply dressed men and women in contorted poses in an urban landscape. These dramatic life sized pictures capture the complexities of modern life and often convey intense emotion. The series has a large following and can be seen in various media, including the hit series Mad Men.
